Woman grabbed from behind while walking in Oakville neighbourhood

Halton Regional Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a male they alledge is responsible for the sexual assault of an Oakville woman on Saturday (May 20).

Police say the incident took place around 10:30 a.m. when the woman was walking in the area of Sandpiper Rd. and Fourth Line and was allegedly grabbed from behind by an unknown male.

The woman fell to the ground and the male suspect took off from the area on foot.

No physical injuries were reported.

Police arrived at the scene, but were not able to locate the male suspect.

The suspect is described as a while male in his late 30’s. He is approximately five-foot-eight with a heavy build and had crew cut dark hair.

He was wearing a pair of bright fluorescent green shorts with a grey top and black running shoes.

Sexual assault is any touching of another person without their consent where the touching is of a sexual nature, or where the sexual integrity of the victim is violated.

A sexual assault can range from unwanted touching to sexual assault involving penetration.

There is no statute of limitation when it comes to reporting a sexual assault.
