Winning the lottery can bring a very nice pay day, but the prize in this Town of Oakville lottery isn’t cash.

Nope, win this lottery and you get a licence to work.

The Town is holding an Oakville taxicab owner licence lottery for those interested in driving a cab.

Those wanting to get a taxicab business licence can submit an online entry to the upcoming taxicab owner licence lottery beginning Tuesday, Aug. 8 and through to Sept. 5.

The online application is available by visiting the Taxi Licence page.

A live stream of the random draw will be held online on Wednesday, Sept. 20 on the Town of Oakville’s Youtube channel at 1:30 p.m.

To be eligible for the lottery, the entrant must:

1. be at least 18 years of age
2. complete the online entry form by visiting the Taxi Licence page
3. pay the $396 non-refundable taxi lottery fee
4. have a valid and on-air if the entrant holds a taxicab licence
