Wet weather closes Oakville sports fields, diamonds

Rain, rain won’t go away, so Oakville has to cancel all sports events scheduled to take place Tuesday (June 27) on natural sports fields.

Due to rainfall saturation, all natural grass sports fields and baseball diamonds in town are closed today.

There is some good news as artificial turf fields will remain open for permitted users.

This marks the second straight day that natural sports fields will be closed in Oakville as soggy weather conditions have affected several outdoor activities.

“Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we protect the standards of the fields,” the Town said on Twitter.
