Weekend road work on QEW through Burlington is cancelled

The lane closure scheduled for this weekend on the QEW through Burlington has been cancelled.

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has announced that because of rain expected today (Aug. 16) and tomorrow, the planned road work has been postponed.

It is expected the work will now take place next weekend, from Friday, Aug. 23 at 10 p.m. until Monday, Aug. 26 at 5 a.m.

During this time the ramp from the Eastport Drive Collector to the Skyway Bridge will also be closed.

As well, there will be no access to the Burlington Skyway bridge from the collector lanes.

All ramps at Northshore Boulevard interchange will remain open.

Eastport Drive collector lanes and Eastport Drive can be used as an alternate route.

The MTO says three lanes of traffic will be open at all times.
