Weather warning: Heavy rain expected Tuesday in Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Halton Hills

A heavy rainfall is in store for Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills beginning tomorrow (Tuesday, Aug. 15).

According to Environment Canada, significant rainfall is expected to roll into much of Halton Tuesday and last until the evening.

“Periods of rain, which may be heavy at times, as well as the risk for thunderstorms are expected to impact the area on Tuesday,” said the Environment Canada alert. “Total local rainfall amounts near 50 mm are possible by the time the rain clears the area Tuesday night.”

Areas that see prolonged periods of heavy rain or multiple thunderstorms may see higher amounts which may require rainfall warnings.

Residents are asked to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
