Cruise movie film Burlington park
Tom Cruise takes you to the danger zone in the original 1986 film Top Gun.

Here’s your last chance to catch free outdoor movies in Burlington this summer.

Spencer Smith Park is the location of both films.

First up is the original Top Gun presented by the Burlington Downtown Business Association (BDBA).

The 1986 film stars Tom Cruise as a U.S. Navy pilot who bends the rules, takes the risks but along the way learns how to be a team player. The 1986 film was a box office smash and the highest-grossing film of the year.

Top Gun is presented tomorrow, Aug. 20, by the BDBA as part of its Movies By The Lake series.

Then, on Thursday, Aug. 22, Spencer Smith will play host to The Garfield Movie.

This 2024 animated adventure finds Garfield, our favourite kitty cat, leaving his pampered life when he reunites with his long-lost father to get up to some hijinx. Voices are supplied by Chris Pratt and Snoop Dog.

This film is presented by the City of Burlington as its finale in the Movies In The Park series.

Both movies will begin when it starts to get dark.

Visitors to both parks should bring a chair or blanket to sit on.

If it rains the films will be cancelled.
