Heritage Week will cover a broad spectrum of activities in Burlington this year.

Kicking off on Saturday, Aug. 5,  there will be no less than 16 official events that will take place across the city during the week, events that honour Burlington’s past and celebrate the culture that has shaped the community.

Opening ceremonies will take place at St. Luke’s Anglican Church and continue throughout the week.

And this year, Heritage Week has special significance as Burlington celebrates its 150th birthday.

“Heritage Week is a time to celebrate the many aspects of Burlington’s various heritages,” said Michele Camacho, chair of Heritage Burlington. “The celebrations are even more special this year, as Burlington celebrates its sesquicentennial anniversary.”

The list of events is extensive and can best be found through the Heritage Week link on the City of Burlington website.
