Volunteers needed for national hockey championship in Oakville

The best Junior A hockey teams in the country will be descending on Oakville in May and organizers are looking for volunteers.

Hosted by the Oakville Blades organization, the Centennial Cup is being held May 9 to 19 and will bring teams from across the country to Sixteen Mile Sports Complex.

Event organizers are looking for people who can commit to a minimum of four shifts to volunteer for the event.

All volunteers will receive two pieces of event-branded apparel, meals and snacks for every shift worked, a volunteer appreciation party, opportunities to win prizes, and ticket access to all tournament games when not working.

Among the positions that need to be filled are:

• Team Hosts
• Team Services
• Volunteer Operations
• Transportation
• 50/50 & Merchandise Sales
• Security (Access Control)
