The Georgetown Hospital Volunteer Association donated $60,000 to the Halton Hills hospital.

The hospital in Halton Hills received a major donation from its volunteer association recently.

The Georgetown Hospital Volunteer Association continued its commitment in support of Halton Healthcare’s Georgetown Hospital presenting a cheque for $60,000.

“We can’t thank our amazing volunteers enough for their incredible commitment of time, talent and compassion,” said Michele Leroux, Halton Healthcare’s chief Human Resources officer.

“We are so grateful for the work they do to help us provide exemplary patient experiences, always.”

The money was raised though the hopsital’s gift shop, 50-50 draw and other community events and will be used to support the purchase of medical equipment and technology.

“Our volunteers do so much to support our hospital. From greeting you when you first walk through the door and helping patients at mealtime, to running various fundraisers throughout the year, their support is invaluable to our hospital,” said Monica Bettazzoni, the hospital’s Chief Operating Officer.

Halton Healthcare’s hospitals accept applications for new volunteers twice a year. For more information about the volunteer organization, visit here.
