A large fire at an Oakville subdivision construction project on Wednesday (June 21) has caused extensive damage.
Smoke from the scene could be seen for miles as several homes in the midst of being built had gone up in flames shortly after 11:30 p.m.
Multiple new homes, located in the area of Dundas St. E and William Cutmore Blvd. near Ninth Line, were engulfed in flames as members of the Oakville Fire Department worked to get the massive fire under control.

Reports are that at least 10 new homes in various stages of construction, believed to be a Mattamy Homes development, have been damaged in the fire. The now doused fire may have been exacerbated by the wind.
