A vegan cafe, deli and market with a Middle Eastern influence in downtown Oakville has  closed.

Dar Nabati, located at 333 Lakeshore Rd. E., is reported to have closed its doors in March 2023.

The Middle Eastern restaurant was popular with local residents and drew praise on Google reviews.

“Wow! Such an amazing vegan restaurant – a gem in the heart of downtown Oakville,” said Sharon, who gave it a five-star review.

Made with local, organic fresh plant-based ingredients, the cafe and deli offered a wide variety of Middle Eastern food. Customers could try everything from flat breads, bowls, sandwiches and baked goods to baba ghanoush, shawarma and hummus.

“I had the halloumi wrap and it was really tasty, close to the real thing,” said Anu Singh. “The hummus and baba ghanoush platter are also delicious. Definitely recommend!”

Items for sale in the market included household products and body care like soaps, shampoos and conditioners.

Dar Nabati had been open since 2018.
