A Halton Regional Police officer got a bit of a surprise Wednesday morning (Sept. 27) when he pulled over a van hauling a trailer behind it in north Oakville.
It appears the unsecure trailer load wasn’t the only unsecure thing the van was hauling.
“Two persons found laying down in the back of the van unrestrained,” said the Halton police social media post on the vehicle pulled over by Const. Shane Barnes.
The commercial motor vehicle and trailer pulled over near Dundas St. and Trafalgar Rd. had a host of other issues upon inspection by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) officer.
This CMV combo was stopped by @CVSA Inspector Cst. Barnes yesterday. Two persons found laying down in the back of the van unrestrained.

Along with the insecure load in the trailer, there was also a bald tire, loose hitch ball and an inoperative breakaway device.
The commercial motor vehicle combo has been placed out of service and charges have been laid.
