Upgrades to a Burlington park delayed until next year

A redesign of a section of a Burlington park won’t be completed until next year because of construction delays.

Original plans called for an upgrade and refurbishing of the hill slide at Forestvale Park to be completed this year, however, that is no longer the case.

The park, located at 1076 Forestvale Dr., will now see the work completed and have the slide reopen in the spring of 2024.

Work will see the removal of the existing hill slide and safety surface and be replaced by new hill slide play equipment and protective rubber surface. Sod restoration will also take place.

The full playground and slide area will be closed during construction, and although the remainder of the park will stay open, there could be some minor inconveniences due to construction activity.

The playground and slide area will be closed and fenced off with signs posted until the final safety inspection is complete.
