Halton Police have attended 23 fire calls following a transformer fire that occurred in Acton.
Halton Police have attended 23 fire calls following a transformer fire that occurred in Acton.
Police say most of the calls were for reports of smoke, however, there were two calls for significant structure fires.
Both fires are out and there were no injuries.

Since this morning, we have attended 23 fire calls, most for reports of smoke, but two of which were significant structure fires. Primary response was by Milton Fire and @HaltonHillFD. Both fires are out and no one was injured as a result. ^jh

Earlier today (May 16) Halton Police reported that a transformer had exploded in Acton.
The explosion caused a power surge which impacted residents in Georgetown. In addition, the Toronto Premium Outlets Mall was evacuated.

This explosion caused a power surge which has impacted residences in Georgetown and the Toronto Premium Outlets Mall.
The mall has successfully been evacuated due to reports of smoke and all occupants are safe. ^jh

A number of residences have reported smoke due to the power surge.
Additionally, we are on the scene of two residential fires, one on Ballantine Dr. and one on Lookout Court, both in Georgetown.
