Burlington Skyway Niagara bound lanes closed

Niagara-bound traffic across the Burlington Skyway won’t be impeded by construction this weekend.

The latest update provided by Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation shows that repair work that was planned for this weekend on the QEW bridge has been cancelled.

This means the next scheduled full closure of the Niagara-bound lanes on the Skyway is Friday, Aug. 18 at 10 p.m. with a reopening at 10 a.m. the next day.

During the QEW Niagara-bound closures, MTO will close these on-ramps:

  • All lanes of the QEW Fort Erie-bound, beyond Northshore Blvd./ Hwy. 2 to the south of the Burlington Skyway will be closed.
  • The on-ramp to QEW Fort-Erie-bound from Northshore Blvd./Hwy. 2 southbound will be fully closed.
  • The on-ramp to QEW Fort Erie-bound from Plains Rd. southbound will be fully closed
  • The on-ramp to QEW Fort Erie-bound from Fairview St. southbound will be fully closed
  • QEW Niagara-bound collector lane split at Eastport Dr.(north-south Ramp, north of the canal), will be closed

The Niagara-bound lanes are also scheduled to close on Friday, Aug. 25 at 10 p.m. and reopen the next morning.
