Residents living in the area of old Oakville will have to venture a little further to Tim Hortons for the next couple of months as two of their favourite spots to grab a coffee, doughnut and some friendly conversations are closed.

The popular coffee shop has temporarily closed two of its busiest locations, including their 228 Wyecroft Rd. shop, just east of Dorval Rd., for extensive renovations.

Also undergoing extensive work is the Tim Hortons at 587 Third Line, just south of Speers Rd.

The Wyecroft location, which is usually very busy inside throughout the day and has a lengthy line of vehicles at its drive-thru in the early morning, was officially closed for renovations on Apr. 29, said a sign posted outside the shop.

A date for when the renovations are to be completed has not been released by Tim Hortons. Customers are directed by the small signs outside to visit their location at 290 North Service Rd. W. for their fix of Tim Hortons coffee and baked goodies.

Metal fencing has been placed outside along the border of the Wyecroft Rd. property and a large blue dump bin is parked just outside the front doors. The store has undergone several renovations over the last two decades.

The Third Line location also has metal fencing around the store as well as yellow caution tape and the word “closed” in large letters painted on the front window. No date for when renovations will be completed can be found at the location.

Third Line customers are being directed to the Esso gas station across the street.
