Two people have died in separate Burlington incidents

Separate incidents in Burlington have claimed the lives of two people this past weekend.
On Saturday night (June 17), a man drowned in the waters of Lake Ontario.
According to reports, the man was swimming in Burlington Beach but had trouble making it back to shore.
The Halton Regional Police Marine Unit was called around 7 p.m. to try to make the rescue. He was pulled from the water and taken to hospital but was pronounced dead.
Police are still investigating the circumstances around this incident.
Then, on Sunday (June 18) around 3:45 p.m., GO Transit reported a woman was fatally struck by a train near the Burlington GO Station.
A police investigation later confirmed the incident which happened on the Lakeshore West Line between Brant St. and Fairview St.
Police are still investigating at the scene but GO Train lines are now operating fully.
