Two men facing several drug and weapons charges after traffic stop in Halton Hills

A routine traffic stop in Halton Hills turned into two arrests and more than a dozen drug and firearm charges against two men.
Halton police made the stop at 1:40 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, on Main St. N. in Georgetown.
During the stop, officers said they identified readily available cannabis and conducted a Cannabis Control Act search of the vehicle.
During the search, officers located a loaded handgun with an extended, 30-round magazine. Officers also located cocaine, MDMA and fentanyl in the vehicle.
Both the driver and the passenger of the vehicle were arrested by police.
Kofi Jenkins, 24, of Kitchener and Camilus Charles, 23, of Shelburne have both been charged with:
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a loaded firearm
- Possession of a prohibited device (extended magazine)
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
- Possession for purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession for purpose of trafficking (MDMA)
- Possession for purpose of trafficking (fentanyl)
Charles has also been charged with failure to comply with court order.
Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
