Two Hamilton residents facing charges after Oakville jewelry store robbery

Two Hamilton residents were arrested yesterday, June 14, following a break-in last week at an Oakville jewelry store.
The break-in took place just before 3 a.m. at Avalon Fine Jewellery on Lakeshore Rd. in Oakville. Someone smashed a glass door and stole a large quantity of jewelry.
Yesterday, Halton police officers executed search warrants for a vehicle and residence in Hamilton.
During the search, police located and seized stolen property including jewelry as well as four ounces of methamphetamine and a number of butterfly knives and replica firearms.
Jarreh Grant, 32, has been charged with:
- Breaking and entering
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (two counts)
- Disguise with intent
- Possession of break and enter instrument
- Fail to comply with order (two counts)
- Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of prohibited weapons
- Fail to comply with prohibition order
Sarah Skrtich, 33, has been charged with:
- Breaking and entering
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (2 counts)
Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police are also investigating the possibility the accused are responsible for other break-ins in the area and working to identify the rightful owners of stolen property.
