Two men face multiple charges following a smash-and-grab crime in Acton.

Police reports indicate that two men used a hammer to break into a Queen St. store around 4 a.m. on Feb. 25.

Once inside the culprits smashed through display cases and gathered up video games and other electronic devices before making their escape.

A short time later, Halton police say they noticed a suspicious vehicle in Georgetown which led to a traffic stop. During their investigation officers found that the car had been reported stolen and that items matching those that were stolen from the store were found in the vehicle.

Police then arrested the two men, one 45 and the other 44-years-old, and charged them each with breaking and entering, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a break-in tool, and failing to comply with a previous release order. One of the men was also charged with impaired driving and possession of a controlled substance.

Their names have not been released.
