Jaime Rosa of Burlington has been playing the lottery for 20 years and it has finally paid off.
Rosa and his family are celebrating after winning the top prize of $2 million in the Sept. 13 draw of Ontario 49.
The transportation worker was at the store and thought something was wrong when the clerk checked his ticket.
“They told me OLG would be calling, and I looked down at the printed slip that said I won $2 million – I was trembling!” he said. “My family thought I was joking when I told them. It was crazy to tell them something I barely believed myself.”
After playing the lottery for 20 years this is his first major win.
Rosa plans to share his win with his wife and children, pay off his mortgage, think about retirement, and enjoy some travel.
“My dreams of helping my children are able to come true because of this win,” he said.
Ontario 49 is $1 per play and the draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday.
The winning ticket was purchased at Shell Select on Appleby Line.
