Get ready to put on your sombrero, listen to some salsa and meringue music and enjoy a few tostadas, fajitas and churros next weekend in Oakville.

The Oakville Latino Festival returns to Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park for a second year from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Aug. 11 to 13.

Featuring 25 food vendors, exhibitors, artisans and a kid zone, the festival looks to create a unique experience for the whole family through dance, music and art exhibitions that explore the “richness of Latin American culture.”

“According to figures from the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Latin America is the favorite place for Canadians to go on vacation,” said festival organizers. “We want to project that Latin spirit to make our visitors feel like they are in a true Latin party.”

Organizers are looking to build on the success of last year.

“We had the support of the (town), thousands of spectators, and sponsors who believed in us,” they said on the festival website. “This first year was filled with learning experiences and memories that we will never forget.

“Thank you for believing in us and being a part of this beautiful experience.”

Over 7,000 people per day are expected to attend the festival with over 100 companies taking part.

Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park is located at 2340 Ontario St.
