Trudeau talks housing, inflation, during Milton visit

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau dropped by a Milton landmark yesterday.
But he was after more than just a fresh-baked pie during his stopover at Springridge Farm.
Trudeau spoke with local residents about a broad range of topics, including inflation, the cost of homes, and the challenges students face when going back to the classroom next week.
It’s been a tough summer for the Prime Minister with his party being passed by the Conservatives in the latest polls, climate-change fuelled wildfires in Quebec, BC and the territories, and inflation continuing to drive up the cost of goods, services and housing.
During his time in the Town, Trudeau admitted the cost of housing has become a huge issue for all Canadians, but particularly in a growing community like Milton.
He said the Liberals have been working with multiple levels of government, including municipal, to find solutions to the housing crisis.
As for inflation and the cost of living, Trudeau said that although some prices are coming down, grocery costs are staying stubbornly high.
