Tree lighting takes centre stage in Burlington

The holiday season begins tomorrow (Nov. 18) in Burlington.

Aldershot Village Tree Lighting will take place and with that will come the launch of the festive season and plenty of activities for the entire family.

Presented by the Aldershot Business Improvement Area (BIA), this year will see the addition of many activities surrounding the lighting ceremony including music and facing paintings, There will be hot dogs, hot chocolate and snacks, choirs and a visit from Santa and friends.

Entertainment will be provided by a variety of performers including Enchorus Children’s Choir, St Mathew Bell Choir & Brad Boland.

As well, you can help Halton police “cram a cruiser” with a donation of non-perishable food items that will assist in the campaigns for the Compassion Society of Halton and the Burlington Food Bank.

You can also start your Christmas shopping early with a visit to the vendor market that will be on hand offering a variety of gift ideas.

Events will take place at 355 Plains Rd. E. from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. with the tree lighting scheduled for 6 p.m.
