Traffic snarled on Toronto-bound QEW in Burlington

The Toronto-bound lanes of the QEW were snarled for several hours Friday afternoon after a tractor-trailer crashed through the steel barrier.

According to the OPP Highway Safety Division, a tow truck towing the semi went through the barrier that divides the highway from the South Service Rd. near Guelph Line.

According to police, the two right lanes of the QEW were blocked for cleanup, backing up traffic towards Hwy. 403 and the Burlington Skyway bridge.

There were no injuries reported and the road will be open as soon as cleanup is complete.

Both lanes of the South Service Rd. were also blocked.
