Last year’s outdoor neighbourhood ice rink program was so successful, the Town of Milton is bringing it back again.

The program is a collaborative project between local residents and the Town.

Groups of six or more adults can build and operate a neighbourhood rink in a pre-approved location, meeting the criteria and agreed-upon responsibilities to maintain the rink throughout the winter season.

“A neighbourhood rink provides a community-building opportunity where a group of neighbours are committed to building and operating an outdoor ice rink at a community park for all residents to enjoy, free of charge,” said a Town spokesperson.

“Workplaces serving their community through volunteer initiatives should also consider applying to build and operate a rink this winter season.”

Online applications are open until Nov. 3.
