Oakville looks for input to help ease search for by-law info

The Town of Oakville is looking for feedback from residents to improve its by-law reference and search tool.

Local residents may be able to help if they have ever looked up any of Oakville’s by-laws, such as fireworks, parking, zoning, or others.

Members of the public will be able to provide input through an online survey, which will be available until July 17, 2023, to help improve the ease of searching, accessing and using by-law information.

This includes most commonly searched by-laws available on the Popular By-laws page, and an advanced search and indexing tool for a more detailed search.

All the feedback collected through the online survey will be used to improve the access and use of by-laws on the town’s website.

Town by-laws are in place to provide up-to-date information on what’s allowed, prohibited or exempted on a number of matters that help keep the growing community safe and enjoyable.

By-law information is used by residents, businesses, vendors, researchers, investors, community groups and more.
