There is a new look at the Town of Oakville’s website.

Today (March 27), oakville.ca was relaunched with an updated design that aims to enhance customer experience and make it easier for residents to access town programs and services.

The new website can be accessed on any mobile device, including laptops, tablets and phones.

The Town believes residents will notice the website has a fresh, clean look and feels easier to read. Other features include a larger font and a strong colour contrast for improved accessibility.

There is also refreshed and more relevant content along with more intuitive navigation and an improved search tool to find information easily and quick access to sign in and out of your online town account on any page

“Council and I recognize the important role oakville.ca has in connecting residents with the programs, services, and supports the town has to offer,” said Oakville Mayor Rob Burton.

“The new website provides an enhanced online experience for residents to find information more quickly and easily connect with the town.”

One new feature residents can try is “In my neighbourhood”, a new interactive feature highlighting ward-specific information.

Simply enter your Oakville address and you’ll be taken to a web page highlighting who your local councillors are, what events are taking place in their area and an interactive map showing key town facilities, parks and trails, building permits and active development applications, and more.

After being put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town returned to work on a website redesign in the spring of 2022.

The Town spent the past year engaging with local residents and getting input from them on the design and functionality of the website through online surveys and in-person information sessions.

A 2022 Citizen Survey indicated that residents connected most with the Town through its website (61 per cent) and saw it as both a way to contact the town and to find information about programs and services.

Residents can let the Town know what they think of the new website or report an issue they spotted by completing the online feedback form.

The feedback will help the town continue to improve the website for users.

Oakville is also rebuilding and launching other town sites (oakvilletransit.caoakvillecentre.ca and investoakville.ca) to match the look and feel of oakville.ca.
