The Toronto Rock lacrosse team, which plays its regular season games in Hamilton, opened the preseason Saturday with a 13-10 Remembrance Day victory over the Saskatchewan Rush.
In Oakville.
Saturday’s match was the first of three exhibition games the Rock will play at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre (TRAC) on Invicta Drive in Oakville, the headquarters of the team as well as a centre for the sport in the GTA.
Home of the Oakville Buzz junior club and the high performance TRAC Athletic program, the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre boasts two indoor lacrosse fields, an outdoor turf field, offices, medical facilities and a pro shop. Opened in 2012, TRAC is the training ground for both the Rock of the National Lacrosse League and of the sport at all levels locally.
The Rock will host the Colorado Mammoth Saturday November 18 at the TRAC and the Philadelphia Wings November 25. There is no charge for admission but fans are asked to help out with local charity drives at each game.
Saturday’s game was in support of Food For Thought, a program with the motto “no child goes hungry” that is the sole provider for the Student Nutrition Program in Halton schools.
This Saturday’s match against Colorado will be for Safetynet Children & Youth Charities, which provides financially disadvantaged families with clothing and household items. Fans will be able to donate new and gently used clothing, as well as cash contributions, to those in need.

The final exhibition game vs Philadelphia will be in support of the Oakville Fire Toy Drive, an annual tradition of the Oakville Professional Firefighters Association since 1992.
All toys and donations raised are donated to local charities and agencies, where they are then distributed to families in need. For more information on the toy drive, see http://www.oakvillepffa.com/toy-drive.

The Rock moved back to Hamilton in 2021 while retaining its ‘Toronto’ name.
The club has won six NLL titles.
Toronto Rock’s 2023 training camp began on October 28 in Oakville, with the season opener scheduled for December 9 at the First Ontario Centre in Hamilton against Philadelphia.
