Toronto man arrested in connection with several Oakville break-and-enters

Halton police have arrested a Toronto man in connection with a series of break-ins that took place in Oakville earlier this month.
Between Jan. 5 and 13, there were 14 early-evening break and enters to residential homes in southeast Oakville.
Police said the suspects primarily targeted luxury homes between the hours of 5 and 9 p.m. and gained entry by smashing the rear patio glass doors. They stole jewelry, cash and other valuables.
On Jan. 16, Toronto Police officers interrupted a similar style residential break and enter in progress and were able to arrest one of the suspects. Halton investigators were able to link the suspect to break-ins in Oakville.
On Jan. 19, Paata Porchkhidze, 51, of North York was charged by Halton police with five counts of break and entering.
“Investigators believe the accused to be part of an organized group committing break and enters across the GTA and is seeking additional suspects,” said a police spokesperson.
