Tips lead to impaired driving cases in Halton

On Sept. 21, just before 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a citizen initiated complaint in the area of Warwick Dr. and Francis Rd. in Burlington. As a result, Zachary Ciardelli, 27, of St. Catharines been charged with operation while impaired.
Again, on Sept. 21 just before 10:30 p.m., police responded to call concerning a suspect in the area of Concession Rd. 10 E. and Milburough Line in Milton. The result of this investigation led to the arrest of Robert Gills, 56, of Hamilton. He is charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand.
Later that same night, just after 11 p.m., another tip led police to the area of Appleby Line and Upper Middle Rd. in Burlington. Kenneth Grant, 60, of Oakville has been charged in this investigation with blood alcohol concentration 80 mgs or more, within two hours.
One other case happened on Sept. 23 just before 10 p.m. when someone alerted police to the area of Bronte St. and McLaughlin Ave. in Milton. This investigation led to charges against Krunoslav Turalija, 29, of Milton with having a blood alcohol concentration of 80 mgs or more, within two hours.
Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 911 immediately to report a suspected case.
All persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
