From live music and festivals to family-friendly activities, this weekend offers something for everyone. Here’s what’s happening in Burlington, Oakville and Milton.


September 6

Milton:

Live Music at The Eighth Note

This week, the band Three Legged Barstool will take the stage, delivering a mix of classic rock, 90s hits and modern female pop songs.

Oakville:

Kennedy Sisters Team Movie Night in the Park

Woodhaven Park will host the Kennedy Sisters Team Movie Night, inviting the community to enjoy an evening outdoors. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Popcorn, snacks and water will be available.

8th Annual Kerrfest Music Festival 
Happening at Westwood Park, the 8th Annual Kerrfest music festival offers live music, food vendors and a vibrant community atmosphere. Admission requires a general donation receipt, with proceeds supporting event costs. VIP tickets include admission, complimentary food and bar service in the VIP tent.

Burlington:

Burlington Model Railway Club

Visitors can check out three model railway layouts on display. The HO and N scale layouts operate indoors, and the garden gauge layout is set up outdoors, weather permitting.

The club, established in the 1980s, invites enthusiasts and newcomers alike to explore the evolution of model railroading. It showcases impressive advancements in realistic detailing and closely resembles real railways.

Burlington Centre Lions Farmers’ Market

Find fresh, locally grown produce, baked goods, meats, cheeses, and more at the Burlington Centre Lions Farmers’ Market. Support local farmers and enjoy everything from apples to zucchini.

Aldershot Farmers’ Market

Visitors can find fresh, locally grown produce, baked goods, meats, cheeses and more at this Farmers’ Market.

Oakville:

Fiddlestix concert

Fiddlestix, a high-energy five-piece group, has captivated audiences for over a decade with their unique blend of Celtic, bluegrass, rock, classical, pop, blues and jazz. Led by electric fiddler Steve Bowen, the band includes Guitarist/Vocalist Nancy Cipollone, Bassist Matthew Boker, Keyboardist Jeff Blake, and Drummer/Vocalist Scott Apted. Known for their dynamic performances and original sound, Fiddlestix have also gone on a five-year tour in Southeast Asia. The band has released four CDs and performed at major events such as RBC Canada, the Olympics, CityTV and other festivals.

Milton:

Milton Farmers’ Market
With over 40 market vendors, shoppers can find fresh local products, including fruits, produce, meats, homemade sauces, baked goods, flowers, popcorn and more. Admission and parking are free.

Deepawali Carnival and Food Festival

The Deepawali celebration in Milton will feature a range of activities and entertainment, including live Garba dancing, Ganpati Darshan, Dhol Tasha performances, English and Nigerian musical bands and cultural performances from various countries. Attendees can enjoy food and shopping vendors, rides, a toy train and kids’ inflatables. Additional attractions include live sketch artists, balloon twisting, face painting, henna artists, sugar candy and mascots.

Burlington:

Parkinson Canada SuperWalk

The Parkinson’s community is coming together for the SuperWalk, where participants and donors contribute to research, services and support for those affected by the disease. The 2 km walk will take place through the suburbs, just outside downtown Burlington.

Oakville:

Doggie Dip

Happening at the Lion’s Pool, this paw-ty is all about your furry friends! With plenty of toys provided, there’s no need to bring your own. To keep things fun and safe, dogs are to stay leashed when not swimming and outside the fenced pool area. If a pup isn’t playing nice, OMHS may kindly ask for it to be taken out of the event.

1st Annual Oakville Women’s Expo
Attendees will explore a variety of products and services, connect with women entrepreneurs and enjoy a day of empowerment, networking and community. This event offers the chance to support local businesses and be part of a lively celebration.

Milton:

Sensory Storytime

Milton Public Library’s Main branch hosts Sensory Storytime for children two to six years of age. This program combines freedom of movement with visual support.
