From cultural exhibits and outdoor art walks to seasonal fairs and family-friendly scavenger hunts, there’s something for everyone to explore. Here’s what’s happening from Oct. 11 to Oct. 14:


October 11

Burlington:

Burlington Centre Lions Farmers’ Market

Culture Days at the Beachway – Temporary Public Art Exhibit

Experience a unique blend of art and nature along Burlington’s Beachway multi-use path as the city’s public art program launches a special temporary exhibit for Culture Days. The outdoor exhibition features work from 20 local artists and writers, each contributing pieces that bring creative expression to the Beachway trail, accessible for everyone to enjoy.

MARK MASRI and BNMO “Once Upon A Love Song”

Acclaimed tenor and member of The Tenors, Mark Masri, brings the greatest love songs to life with his passionate voice and stage presence. Artworks Oakville Exhibition – Sept. 20 to Oct. 13

Explore Artworks Oakville at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre, a painting and print exhibition featured as part of Culture Days. Presented by the ArtWorks Oakville Association, this exhibit showcases local visual artists in public spaces, promoting creativity in the Oakville community since 1991.

Carla Gonzalez-Casanova with Latintrain

Venezuelan-born Carla Gonzalez-Casanova brings her powerful vocals and Latin flair to the Studio Theatre, performing alongside her Latin ensemble, Latintrain. Known as one of the GTA’s most dynamic world music artists, Carla blends rhythms like Bolero, Cha-Cha, Son, Salsa, Cumbia, and jazz to create an energetic and unique sound. Shades of Autumn | Fall Market

Celebrate the season and support local artisans at the Shades of Autumn Fall Market at St. Aidan’s Church in Oakville. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable item to contribute to the community food drive.

Pumpkinfest in Milton

Celebrate all things pumpkin at Pumpkinfest in Milton, a fall event for the entire family! Held at Andrews Farm Market & Winery, attendees can enjoy live music, a vendor market, a pumpkin patch, a corn maze, a petting zoo and wagon rides.

Cost: Admission is free for children ages 0-5. For ages 6-64, tickets are $16.50 + HST at the door or $15 + HST when purchased online. Seniors aged 65+ can attend for $12 + HST at the door or $10 + HST online, with free admission for seniors on Mondays, excluding holidays.


Saturday Night Salsa Fix

Hosted by the Flying Dance Community, Saturday Night Salsa Fix is open to all dance lovers. The evening kicks off with a Bachata lesson at 7 p.m., followed by a Salsa lesson at 8 p.m., with plenty of time for social dancing into the night. No partner is required, so come solo or with friends!

Burlington:

Bimose Agaming – Walking Along the Lake

In collaboration with Indigenous residents and local communities, Burlington presents Bimose Agaming / Walking Along the Lake, an art walk in Spencer Smith Park that highlights the work of First Nations, Métis and Inuit artists. Visitors can explore art-wrapped electrical boxes featuring Indigenous artwork from across Turtle Island. The walk leads to a newly installed Orange Crosswalk at Lakeshore Road. and Nelson Avenue., symbolizing Burlington’s dedication to Truth and Reconciliation.

Oakville:

Oakville Museum Exhibit: The Home Team Wins, Oakville’s Hockey Clubs

This display, which is held at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex, explores Oakville’s hockey history, from early games played on frozen ponds to the competitive teams representing the town today.

Milton:

Milton Public Library Short Story Contest

Milton Public Library invites students in grades 6-12 to participate in their annual short story contest. Young writers can submit a story of up to 1,500 words on any topic, with prizes awarded to the top three entries in two age categories: Grades 6-8 and Grades 9-12.

Entries must be original, typed, and double-spaced, with Times New Roman, size 12 font. Students may submit one entry each and must live in or attend school in Milton.


Milton Farmers’ Market
With over 40 market vendors, shoppers can find fresh local products, including fruits, produce, meats, homemade sauces, baked goods, flowers, popcorn and more. Admission and parking are free.

Pumpkins After Dark

Experience over 10,000 hand-carved pumpkins at Pumpkins After Dark, Canada’s award-winning Halloween event at Country Heritage Park. This unique walk-through is perfect for all ages, showcasing intricate pumpkin carvings and lighting displays.

Fall Into Nature: Challenge Course

Embrace the autumn season with outdoor adventures at Kelso Conservation Area. The Fall Into Nature Challenge Course offers activities such as the Vulture’s View Climbing Tower, Escarpment Walk Aerial Course, and Eagle Eye Archery Range. Note: Challenge Course activities start from $25 plus tax and are not included in general admission.
