Summer is slowly fading with back-to-school just days away. If you’re looking to postpone that summertime sadness, here are a bunch of events happening in Burlington, Oakville, and Milton this  Labour Day weekend:


August 30

Burlington:

Royal Canadian Circus

The circus is back bringing thrilling acts, stunning visuals, and high-energy performances. This interactive extravaganza promises an unforgettable adventure for the whole family.

Canada’s Largest Ribfest

This event will bring a feast of delicious barbecue and fun! Featuring award-winning Ribbers from across North America, this festival is your chance to taste the best ribs and sauces in the country. Enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere with live musical entertainment, an artisan fair, kids’ activities, and a variety of food options, including chicken, hot dogs, sausages, and sweet treats like funnel cakes and elephant ears.

Ice Cream Social and Outdoor Movie Night

Join the Campbellville Community Association for a fun and free movie night under the stars at Brookville Ball Park. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, snacks, and  your friends and neighbours for the second of three summer movie events. Arrive early for a social with the Ice Cream 4U truck onsite at 7 p.m.

Starry Nights Outdoor Movies

Join the Milton Film Festival for a fun-filled evening with free outdoor movie screenings at Country Heritage Park! Bring your whole family, blankets, or folding chairs and enjoy a summer night under the stars with a great film.

Milton Steam Era

The Ontario Steam Preservers Association presents this annual celebration of Canada’s agricultural heritage. Held at Hume’s Auction Farm in Halton Hills, the event features a fascinating display of antique agricultural equipment, including tractors and steam engines and interactive demonstrations showcasing antique machinery’s power. Visitors will can enjoy free wagon rides, a dedicated Kids Zone with fun activities, live entertainment, delicious food options and a flea market filled with vintage treasures and handcrafted items.

Friday Night Jazz

What’s better than spending your Friday night on a patio or relaxing in Towne Square while listening to John Canham and Friends playing some Jazz music?

 Pottery wheel throwing

At Artventures, attendees will learn to create pottery on a wheel under the guidance of an experienced instructor. The class will cover the basics of wheel operation, clay centering and throwing technique. To participate in this class, guests are asked to book their tickets in advance. Prices vary per person/groups.

Burlington Centre Lions Farmers’ Market

Aldershot Farmers’ Market

Visitors can find fresh, locally grown produce, baked goods, meats, cheeses and more at this Farmers’ Market.

Milton:

Milton Farmers’ Market
With over 40 market vendors, shoppers can find fresh local products, including fruits, produce, meats, homemade sauces, baked goods, flowers, popcorn and more. Admission and parking are free.
Where: 194 Main St. E. (between James Street and Martin Street)
