A teenager was assaulted and taken to hospital following an altercation at a Milton restaurant Saturday night.

According to Halton police, several people called to report an incident around 10 p.m. on Sept. 21 at the Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen at 604 Santa Maria Blvd., beside the Milton Sports Centre.

“There were multiple calls for a group of masked teenagers with weapons assaulting someone at the Popeyes restaurant,” said Const. Ryan Anderson, the media relations officer for Halton police.

“Police attended and located a male youth victim who had been assaulted. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”

Police believe the culprits used pepper or bear spray and possibly a BB gun in the assault.

“It is unconfirmed at this point how many suspects there were, and no arrests have been made.”
