Suspect Facing Charges After Posing as Realtor and Stealing From Oakville Residence

A suspect is facing charges after posing as a realtor and stealing from an Oakville residence.

A suspect is facing charges after posing as a realtor and stealing from an Oakville residence.

According to police, on May 22, 2019, the victim was hosting an open house at a residence in the town exclusively for realtors in the anticipation of selling the house.  

The suspect, a man from Willow Beach, learned of the open house through the internet and attended the residence. 

Police say the suspect attended the residence at the same time as the other realtors, and the victim assumed the suspect was also a realtor and allowed him to enter.  

However, according to police, once inside the suspect went upstairs to the master bedroom and stole approximately $30,000 worth of jewellery.  

The suspect left the residence after being questioned by the victim.

According to police, after the suspect left the victim went back to the master bedroom and discovered the jewellery had been stolen.

As a result of an investigation, Clinton Dixon (29) of Willow Beach is facing the following alleged charges:

-Unlawfully in a dwelling

-Theft over $5,000

Police believe there may be other occurrences involving the accused and are asking anyone with information regarding similar incidents to contact Detective Constable Ross Amore of the 2 District Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-825-4747, ext. 2246.
