Suspect Arrested After Pointing Gun at Kids in Georgetown

A 19-year-old man is being charged after allegedly pointing a gun at three girls in Georgetown.

The incident took place on Oct. 5 at 5:25 p.m. along the Credit River.

That’s when Halton Police responded to a call for service involving a pointed firearm.

Three girls – all 13-years-old – were walking near the river in the Maple Ave. and 17 Side Road area when they encountered a group of males.

One of the males was seen with what appeared to be a gun, which was then pointed in the girls’ direction, say police, causing the victims to immediately flee the area.

No one was injured in the incident.

The suspect was described as a white male in his late teens or early twenties, standing 5-foot-7 with brown hair and a long goatee. He was wearing black pants, a black T- shirt, and a black sweater.

The suspect had a tattoo of a teardrop under his left eye and various other tattoos on both hands.

Patrol officers quickly identified the suspect and arrested the man in the early morning hours of Oct. 6th.

Kenneth Gill of Georgetown was charged and held for bail.

He’s facing one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Police say they haven’t recovered the weapon and believe the firearm involved to be a pellet gun.

The investigation is ongoing.
