Summer patio season coming to an end in downtown Burlington

Pedestrians in downtown Burlington will have to negotiate a few sidewalk detours over the next week or so.

As the weather changes from pleasant autumn to cold and blustery, the season sidewalk patio program is ending in many places.

City of Burlington staff will be removing several patios that pop up every spring and summer beginning today.

Here’s the schedule:

• Oct 16: John Street, from Pine Street to Lakeshore Road, and Pine Street, from Elizabeth Street to Pearl Street.
• Oct 17-19: Lakeshore Road at Brant Street and Elgin Street, west of Brant Street
• Oct 25: Brant Street from Elgin Street to Lakeshore Road

Pedestrians and drivers in the area are asked to pay special attention to work crews and stay safe.
