A gang of speeding, stunt performing motorcycle and vehicle drivers who stopped traffic on the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) in Oakville last month have been identified and are now facing charges.

An investigation into the Sept. 21 incident by Halton Regional Police has led to Stunt Driving and Careless Driving charges under the Highway Traffic Act for a 22-year-old Oakville male, and two 22-year-old males from Burlington.

At around 11 p.m., the group of motorcycles and cars slowed down and eventually stopped traffic on the westbound QEW near Ford Dr.

The vehicles would then perform various stunt driving manoeuvres travelling at high speed and weaved their way through traffic on the shoulder of the road.

The gang then exited the QEW in Burlington.

Having been charged with Stunt Driving, all three males have been given a 30-day licence suspension and will have their vehicles (two motorcycles and a car) impounded for 14 days.

Members of the public who witnessed this incident or have dash camera footage are being asked to contact the HRPS – District Response Unit (Burlington) at 905-825-4747, ext. 2391.
