Students in Oakville, Burlington, Milton can learn about skilled trades at career fair

A chance for Catholic baord students in Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills to learn about skilled trades is coming up next month.

The Halton Catholic District School Board is hosting the Skilled Trades Career Fair on Saturday, Feb. 24, for students in Grades 7-12, their parents and guardians, and those interested in pursuing a career as technological education teachers.

“The Skilled Trades Career Fair will showcase the value and importance of careers in the skilled trades to students and their families, and recruit current or aspiring technological education teachers who are vital to the success of our technological education programs at HCDSB,” said a Board spokesperson.

The fair is being held Saturday, Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Secondary School, 1145 Bronte St. S., Milton.

The HCDSB Skilled Trades Career Fair will provide students and families with information about apprenticeship programs and diverse career paths in skilled trades and share information with prospective Technological Education Teachers about career opportunities with HCDSB.

It will also provide networking opportunities with educational institutions, industry leaders, and professionals in both trades and education.
