A Waterdown driver will be without their vehicle for a couple of weeks after police allegedly caught them doing double the speed limit in a Burlington school zone on Friday afternoon (Sept. 27).
Halton Regional Police said the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on King Road at Cedar Avenue.
They allege the 43-year-old driver was pulled over after going 100 km/hr. in a 50 km/hr. maximum speed zone, passing a crossing guard on duty.
“Extreme speed comes with the appropriate penalty,” said Halton police on its traffic social media feed on X (formerly Twitter).
The driver, who has a court date, has had their vehicle impounded for 14 days, and their driver’s licence suspended for 30 days.
