If the weather is not causing enough problems, Burlington drivers now have to contend with a sinkhole.

The collapsing road surface found on North Shore Boulevard has added to the current snow-inflicted rush-hour headaches.

According to reports, the sinkhole was discovered late this afternoon (March 22) which prompted emergency crews to attend and close off a stretch of the road between Edgewater Crescent and Eagle Drive.

Currently, detours are in place redirecting traffic away from the area.

Access to local roads will be maintained beyond Eagle Drive to the Golf Club.

As for the sinkhole, because of the snow and snow-clearing efforts, officials say it may take several days for the road to be repaired.
