Several stunt drivers were stopped in Oakville in the last 10 hours

Four stunt drivers were stopped and charged by Halton Regional Police Service in Oakville today (Sept. 19).

According to a tweet by the authorities, the first incident unfolded at approximately 10:48 a.m. when officers spotted two drivers tearing through the streets at the speed of 103 kilometres per hour—above the posted speed limit.

The speedsters now face a slew of legal consequences, including a 30-day license suspension and the impoundment of their vehicles for a 14-day period. Additionally, they will be required to make a court appearance to answer for their actions.

Not long after the initial incident, the third stunt driver was apprehended at around 12:14 p.m. for clocking 105 kilometres per hour in a 60-kilometre-per-hour zone.

Like their predecessors, this driver now faces a 30-day license suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment, along with a court summons to address their reckless conduct.

The fourth was speeding down Royal Windsor Dr. around 1:34 p.m., at 111 kilometres per hour, more than double the legal limit of 60 kilometres per hour.

Police say that this driver failed to apply for a permit upon becoming the owner of the vehicle and using a license plate not authorized for their car.

As a result, this individual has been charged with speeding, stunt driving, failing to apply for a permit, and using an unauthorized license plate.

The consequences for the fourth driver mirror the penalties imposed on the earlier offenders.

Their license has been suspended for 30 days, their vehicle impounded for 14 days, and they are set to appear in court to account for their actions.
