Schools Under Hold and Secure in Oakville

At least three schools are under hold and secure in Oakville after reports of a suspicous male on Monday morning.

Halton police are currently looking for a suspicious person in the Kerr St. and Speers Rd. area as of 10:35 a.m.

Schools under hold and secure include Ecole Elementaire Sainte Marie, Oakwood Public School , Thomas Merton Secondary School, and Halton Region Child Care Centre.

The male is described as having brown skin with long black hair.

The suspect is wearing a red Roots hoodie, white and blue jeans w/ rips, has a black side bag and is carrying a blue backpack.

Call 911 if you see him and do not approach, warn police. 

UPDATE (11:00 a.m.): Police say Kerr Street Mission is now under hold and secure.

UPDATE (11:25 a.m.): The hold and secure has been lifted for all five institutions, police report.
