School board, teachers reach contract settlement in Halton

The Halton District School Board and the union representing high school teachers have negotiated a new contract.

The tentative deal now must be ratified by both school board trustees and the teachers.

Represented by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation-Teachers’ Bargaining Unit, District 20 Halton (OSSTF-TBU District 20), the 1,450 high school teachers working in the public school system have a meeting to discuss the collective agreement later this month.

Terms of the tentative agreement remain confidential until the ratification process is completed.
