It's never too early to plan for Santa's arrival.

It’s still summer time but Santa Claus likes to plan ahead.

The man with the white beard and red suit has set Sunday, Dec. 1 as the day he will take part in the Burlington Santa Claus Parade this year.

This year the parade will have a different route because of road construction that will be taking place in the downtown area.

The new route has not been planned, but officials say it will be shorter than previous parades and have less impact on businesses and residents who live in the area.

And, even though we are weeks away from the event, food vendors, entertainers and float participants can now apply to participate in the parade. The application deadline is Oct. 18 and can be filed at Santa Claus Parade Float Entry – Burlington.

Application Deadline: October 18th Please note that the deadline for application submissions is October 18th. Be sure to submit your application by this date to be considered.

Again this year you can bring your letters to Santa. They will be collected by Canada Post workers along the parade route during the big day.

As well, donations to the Burlington Food Bank will also be accepted on parade day.
