A major street overhaul is planned for a Burlington neighbourhood.
Residents of Park Avenue East, Park Avenue West and Aldershot Place will likely see the work take place in 2025.
A public meeting to discuss the project will take place Oct. 1 at 6:30 p.m. at LaSalle Park Pavilion, 50 North Shore Boulevard East. City staff will present the plans at the meeting and residents will have an opportunity to ask questions.
When the work commences it will include:
- changing the roads from rural to an urban cross-section, including the addition of curbs, gutters and storm sewers
- installation of sidewalks on one side of each street
- watermain replacement
- full road reconstruction
- street lighting upgrades
According to City Councilllor Kelvin Galibraith’s recent newsletter, residents living on the effected streets will receive a letter through Canada Post in the next couple of weeks from city engineering staff providing more details about the project and the public meeting. The letter will include a link to the project webpage (which is not yet complete), where residents can go and view the plans and sidewalk locations ahead of the meeting.
