Road closed this weekend for dog focused Halloween event in Oakville

A road closure is scheduled for this weekend on George Street in Oakville.
In an update provided by town officials, it was noted that George Street will be closed between Church Street and Lakeshore Road East on Saturday, October 19, 2024, for the upcoming Tails and Treats event held by the Downtown Oakville BIA — a Halloween costume event featuring the dogs of Oakville.
The closure will begin at 7 am and is set to end at 6:30 pm with local access restricted for the entire period.
George Street will be closed between Church Street and Lakeshore Road East on October 19 from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The closure is for the Downtown Oakville BIA Tails and Treats event.

The following roadways will operate as the primary detours during the initial closure:
- Church Street
- Thomas Street
- Lakeshore Road East
- Dunn Street
