Restored Oakville playground and splash pad now open

Kids have one more place to play and cool off this summer in Oakville.
The Postridge Park Playground and Splash Pad are now officially open and feature plenty of upgrades.
Located in the northeast part of town at 400 Postridge Park, near Postridge Drive and Northridge Trail, funding was approved last year by the Town of Oakville for the restoration of the splash pad and playground equipment.
Upgrades completed by the town include:
- Refurbishment and repairs to existing concrete splash pad and playground curbs
- New concrete paving within the splash pad area
- New wood fibre safety surfacing within the playground areas
- Refurbishment of the existing ship structure at the splash pad
- New equipment at the splash pad and at the playgrounds
- New benches
- Clearing of the existing shrub beds to improve visibility
Oakville held onto Pine Valley to construct the 7.36 acre park. Local residents were given two concepts they could provide feedback on, with the town drawing up documents of their preferred choice.
The design work for the playground and splash pad was done by Strybos Barron King.
