Repairs to heating and cooling system set for Burlington’s Joseph Brant Hospital

Joseph Brant Hospital is set to receive an influx of cash for much-needed repairs.

The Ontario government has provided $530,310 that will be used for upgrades such as replacements for roofs and windows, security
systems, fire alarms and backup generators.

The money is part of the $208 million Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund to assist 131 hospitals and healthcare facilities around the province.

“Funding from the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund supports our health care systems so hospitals can continue providing patients with access to the care they need,” said Natalie Pierre, MPP Burlington. “This funding will ensure that Joseph Brant Hospital has the support they need to maintain hospital facilities and infrastructure while continuing to provide access to high-quality healthcare in Burlington.”

Eric Vanderwall, president and chief executive officer at Joseph Brant said the funds will go towards the heating and cooling system at the hospital as well as roof repairs.

“We are grateful for this funding from the Ontario government to maintain and improve the hospital’s infrastructure, which is key to providing high-quality care for our patients and their families,” commented Vanderwall.

Joseph Brant opened in 1961 and serves Burlington and Hamilton as well as surrounding communities Waterdown, Flamborough and Stoney Creek.
